The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center remains open as a warming center, though other services are postponed.

“Due to the fact that the J has very little water pressure that is impacting the availability of restrooms, we will not be able to open the Fitness, Tennis and Gymnastics Centers on Thursday, February 18,” the community center posted to social media Feb. 17.

Meals on Wheels remains in service, and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., the ERJCC continues to offer its building as a warming center to the community, allowing residents to charge their devices. However, there is no access to restrooms.

The Bertha Alyce School and West Houston Ellen Boniuk School will not reopen until Feb. 22. The community center’s after-school enrichment programs, which include classes for children in tennis, theater, play rehearsals, dance, gymnastics and music, are canceled through Feb. 19 and will resume Feb. 21.
