Two years after the first announcement to open Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar on Kirby Drive, officials are preparing to open their second Houston location this September, just north of Rice Village.

Founding Chef Tyson Cole said in a news release how Houston embraced its first location in the Heights, which prompted the new restaurant opening.

“We decided pretty early on that we wanted to open another location in the city. This location will feature a variety of fan favorite dishes along with some new options guests will only find at Kirby," Cole said.

Staying local

Restaurant officials announced a grand opening party at 11 a.m. on Sept. 28 that will include all day $5 boozy slushes. The first 100 guests will also receive a free YETI tumbler.
