With more than 30 Tex-Mex restaurants located nationwide across four states and throughout Texas, Fajita Pete’s was the original concept behind owner Pedro “Pete” Mora back in 2008. More than 15 years later, Mora said he loves being part of the local Houston community.

“We always promote and get involved with the community. We just sponsored Bellaire High School’s spirit night,” Mora said. “It’s been good. Business has been good. The neighborhood has been good.”

A new location in downtown Bellaire is currently in the works at 5201 Spruce St., just a couple miles down from where the original West University Place location opened.

“It has taken two years develop. I bought the space at the end of 2020-2021,” Mora said.

While Mora said he estimates that the new location will be ready in a couple months, renovations and construction continue for now. Mora said he renovated an old paint store with the intention of also bringing new tenants to the adjoining empty space.

The Tex-Mex restaurant will serve fresh-grilled fajitas, homemade tortillas, frozen margaritas and other staple Tex-Mex items, but only for pickup, delivery and to-go for now, Mora said.
