The second location of the Houston-based Craft Pita will debut Nov. 19 just north of West University Place in Plaza in the Park, 5172 Buffalo Speedway, Ste. C, Houston.

Founded in 2019 by Rafael Nasr, a chef and first-generation Lebanese American, the Mediterranean restaurant will offer family-inspired recipes and modern takes on Lebanese classics. The menu at the new eatery will be similar to the one offered at the original Fountainview store with several additions, according to a Nov. 16 press release.

New additions will include chicken and beef kebabs, a sampler plate, a chicken shawarma-style pita and a beef gyro-style pita. A new mezze dinner menu will consist of appetizers, entrees and dessert for two people for $60. The West University location will also offer an expanded Lebanese wine list, according to the release.

“We are excited for everyone to try our Lebanese cuisine prepared from locally sourced ingredients,” Nasr said in a statement. “West University is the perfect place to expand on what we have built with the Craft Pita community. We are a family-owned restaurant and look forward to serving the families of West University.”

The 2,500-square-foot space will also feature green space and seating on an outdoor patio.

A grand opening event Nov. 19 will begin at 11 a.m. and include giveaways and raffle prizes. The first 25 attendees will receive a free pita, and the first 50 will receive a ticket to enter a drawing for a raffle prize, according to the release.
