Cordovan Art School will host a grand opening celebration for its new Bellaire location May 16 with free art classes.
What they offer
Founded by John Howell in 2009, Cordovan is an art school for children, teens and adults that offers classes in mediums such as painting, drawing, sketching, pastels and watercolors.
Marketing manager Susan Wilcox said the school’s goal is to make kids love art.
“We hire professional teachers,” she said. “Our focus is on starting a child where they are and bringing them forward from there. Some people just need a creative outlet to go create and we’re there to make it an enjoyable, fun place to go and create.”
Cordovan has 12 locations throughout Texas, with seven around the Houston area and five in the Austin area.
The grand opening
During the opening celebration event in Bellaire, the art school will host free art classes and offer raffles for free summer camps.
