According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, a new Planet Fitness is slated for Houston's Maplewood neighborhood off of Beechnut Street.

Two-minute impact

The filing shows that the $2 million renovation is anticipated to start construction in December, with an estimated completion timeframe in mid-2026. Details are subject to change.

According to Google Maps, a permanently shuttered supermarket known as Foodarama is currently occupying the site of the future Planet Fitness. The store closed in mid-2025 and measures close to 33,000 square feet.
