The Texas Department of Transportation will host a town hall meeting Oct. 23 in League City to discuss the expansion of Grand Parkway.

What you need to know

Section B-1, which is a portion of Section B within Grand Parkway’s expansion project, will stretch from I-45 in League City to south of FM 2403, and is slated to be bid in 2026 with construction beginning in 2027, according to a news flash from League City.

Construction will impact several roadways in League City, including:
  • Hobbs Road
  • Calder Road
  • FM 646
Section B is a 28-mile, four-lane, controlled access toll road with intermittent frontage roads from I-45 South in League City toward SH 35 in Alvin and on to SH 288 near Rosharon through Galveston and Brazoria counties.

TxDOT will present the following at the town hall:
  • Project overview and timeline
  • Expected impacts during construction
  • Residential and commercial development impacts
  • How to prepare as work begins
Attendees will be able to ask questions and provide comments on the presentation.

The town hall will run from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, located at 400 W. Walker St., League City.
