Workers are upgrading El Dorado Boulevard to prolong its life and make it smoother for drivers.

The big picture

On Aug. 29, workers began replacing concrete panels of El Dorado from Torry Pines Road to Seahorse Drive.

The project is expected to cost $800,000 and wrap up by Oct. 30, weather permitting, according to a Houston City Council District E news release.

What else?

The project includes short, intermittent single-lane closures while contractors work. City officials expect crews to work Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and sometimes on weekends, according to the release.
