A new road is slated to be built that will connect Hobbs Road to the I-45 frontage road, with officials considering two potential options on where to place it.

In an effort to alleviate traffic to the FM 518 and Hobbs intersection, workers in League City will construct about 1,000 feet of two-lane roadway that will connect Hobbs Road to the I-45 frontage road. Engineering reports for the project are being finalized and officials expect to make a choice on which road to build in August, League City officials said.

The road will be named after Alexander Winfield, who is one of the first African Americans to settle in League City.
