San Jacinto College establishes partnership for process technology program

San Jacinto College partnered with MRC Global, a Houston-based supply-chain distributor, to provide industry-grade equipment to support training in multiple disciplines, including the process information program, according to a March 23 news release from the college.

The details

The company donated pipes, valves and fittings, or PVFs, to support the construction of a pipe run at the college’s center for Petrochemical, Energy and Technology, or CPHET, according to the news release.

The pipe run, which will be used across multiple disciplines, incorporates continuous segments of PVFs to transfer fluids, gases and small solids for plumbing, heating and other industrial systems.

Students in the welding program helped construct the pipe run, while nondestructive testing students inspected the structure and process technology students will use the system for training, according to the news release.

The equipment will also be incorporated into summer camps and local school district visits, according to the news release.
