Water Oak Cafe & Bakery opened its doors in the southern suburb of Webster just before Thanksgiving on Nov. 20.

The eatery offers a variety of desserts—including peach crumb pie, banana nut bread and carrot cake—as well as brunch and lunch entrees, such as avocado toast, brisket hash, chicken kale Caesar salad and steak frites.

The concept for the restaurant began with owner Dena Dragger Baughman’s first business, Water Oak House, where she sold her popular Key lime pie.
