After relocating from their original location north of Red Bluff Road, veteran owned Zane's Original, a gourmet burger restaurant, reopened inside of Damn Fine Coffee and Fried Pies in Seabrook in late February, owner LaCrisha Chasteen said.
Damn Fine Coffee and Fried Pies serves coffee and desserts like gelato and fried pies in flavors, such as peach cobbler and banana pudding and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Zane's Original will use the space in the evening and will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to the business' website.
"Basically Damn Fine said, 'Hey, we're not open at night, you guys want to come in?,'" Chasteen said.
On the menu
Zane's Original sells half-pound burgers that are a blend of brisket, chuck and short rib that are smoked and then grilled, Chasteen said.
The menu also offers dipper fries, sweet potato fries and parmesan truffle fries as well as wings that are smoked and fried to order.
The location applied for a license to serve beer and wine, but in the meantime guests are welcome to bring their own beverage, Chasteen said.
The backstory
Zane's Original, a namesake of owner Zane Chasteen, started out as a catering business in 2020, before opening a brick and mortar location in 2023 at 3300 Bayport Blvd., Seabrook.
In January, the restaurant announced it would close that location, according to a social media post from the business.
Chasteen said ultimately the lack of foot traffic in the area forced the location to close.
