The Oak Ridge North City Council meeting was held last night and included swearing in the city's municipal court judge, discussing the hiring process for the city manager position and planning for the Fourth of July celebration for the city.

1. Municipal Court Judge swearing in
Bill Pattillo, Oak Ridge North Municipal Court Judge, was sworn in at last night's city council meeting.

Patillo was reappointed to a two-year term as a judge for the city.

2. City manager search
Vicky Rudy, city manager of Oak Ridge North, said the city has so far received 16 resumes of candidates interested in the city manager position that will be open once Rudy retires in August.

The city staff will begin the screening process for candidates on June 19 and hope to hire a new city manager by July 23.

3. Fourth of July celebration
Sarah McClure, community programs coordinator for Oak Ridge North, gave an update on the city's Fourth of July festival, which will feature a car show, bounce houses, kids activities and concessions.

McClure said those who are interested in participating in the car show can register at Elder's Absolutely Cool Automotive in Oak Ridge North.
