After 33 years in business, Dec. 15 will be the last day for longtime Montrose pub, The Black Labrador.
The family-owned English pub known for fish and chips, British bar fare and a wide array of beers is also home to an upstairs jazz venue, Cezanne.
The University of St. Thomas owns the property and leased it to the pub's owners but seeks to repurpose it for the school, representatives from the pub and the university confirmed. The neighboring Freed-Montrose Library property is also getting repurposed for use by University of Thomas.
The pub owners have decided not to look for a new location, a representative of The Black Labrador said.
