The Riot Comedy Club is launching a brand-new all-day cafe to complement the recent opening of its new location on Washington Avenue.
Two-minute impact
The Riot Café will debut as a new coffee shop and dining experience alongside the comedy club. According to an Oct. 8 news release, the cafe will partner with Katz Coffee to serve a specialty blend of coffee throughout the day, alongside evening options such as cocktails, beer, wine and zero-proof beverages.
“The Riot Café gives us a space that can really evolve throughout the day with our guests,” founder Brian Grendon said via news release. “It can be a coffee shop in the morning, a place to grab lunch in the afternoon and a spot to have drinks and catch a show at night. That day-to-night experience is what makes it such a natural extension of The Riot Comedy Club.”
On the menu
The cafe's all-day menu will consist of breakfast, pastries, lunch and shareable bites. Per the news release, items include:
Breakfast croissant sandwiches, danishes, kolaches and yogurt
Five different pizza options, alongside a selection of paninis
Light bites such as hot pretzels, garlic cheesy bread and hummus
Apple fritter bread pudding and blueberry muffin bread pudding
On the beverage menu, guests can expect to see specialty seasonal flavored lattes, Texas and domestic beers and signature cocktails such as The Roast, an alcoholic beverage made with Aguasol Reposado Tequila, mezcal, cold-pressed pineapple juice, lime juice and fire tincture.
General manager Seth Fair said the menu was designed to bring together a mix of "familiar favorites and nostalgic items."
One more thing
The Riot Café will feature 50 seats and a 20-seat patio located adjacent to the new 2,200-square-foot comedy club that reopened in August. The space will offer free Wi-Fi and is available to book for corporate meetings, team lunches and gatherings, per the release.
The cafe will serve coffee beginning at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sundays, followed by bar and show service throughout the evening.
