The Dog Bar is officially open for business at 2404 Montrose Blvd. and will be hosting its grand opening event Aug. 2, co-owner Shantell Biddlecome confirmed.
Biddlecome owns and operates the newly renovated bar alongside her parents and husband.
Who it’s for
With an emphasis on creating a laid-back, dog-centered environment, The Dog Bar invites Houston residents to have a drink and connect with other patrons, all while bringing along their dogs to play at its outdoor, turfed yard.
The family-owned patio and bar offers a selection of craft beer, wine, coffee and mocktails. In addition to these products, patrons can also enjoy light snacks and order treats for their furry friends, according to the company's website.
Per website details, Puptails are among The Dog Bar’s signature menu items.
The local impact
Biddlecome told Community Impact that by opening The Dog Bar, she and her family hope to maintain the vibrant spirit of the Montrose area, while at the same time create a space where canine lovers can socialize through various community events.
These events will include rotating food trucks, adoption pop-ups, rescue organizations and more “dog-friendly experiences,” Biddlecome said.
Although the bar’s grand opening is still underway, customers can visit the location in the meantime during its hours of operation. The Dog Bar is currently open Friday through Sunday.
