1. George Orwell's “1984”
July 5-7
Lone Star College-Montgomery presents this telling of George Orwell’s “1984.” The classic book tells the story of Winston Smith who lives under the totalitarian rule of the Party and has the idea of writing a diary—a crime punishable by death in his society, and imagines the two futures that could befall him. 7-8:30 p.m., 7:45-9:15 p.m., 8:30-9:45 p.m. (July 5-6), 3-4:30 p.m., 3:45-5:15 p.m., 4:30-6 p.m., 7-8:30 p.m., 7:45-9:15 p.m., 8:30-10 p.m. (July 7). Wild Stallion Vineyards celebrates its fourth annual Harvest Day and Grape Stomp where patrons can help pick grapes off the vine and see the beginning of the process of turning grapes into wine. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, wear large-brimmed hats, sunscreen and bug spray. Harvest Day t-shirts will also be available for purchase.
