CareDox will offer free flu shots for Spring ISD students in October through CareDox's Healthy Schools Program, the district announced in a news release Aug. 21.

According to the release, CareDox—a pediatric provider that works to connect K-12 public schools with tech-enabled, no-cost health care—will provide experienced nurses at each SISD campus on Oct. 7-10 and Oct. 15 to administer the flu vaccine to registered students. There is no copay or cost for students or their parents.

The Center[s] for Disease Control [and Prevention] recommends everyone—six months of age and older—receives a flu vaccination every season,” Nursing and Health Services Director Jeanne Parker said in a statement. “Our goal is to ensure that flu shots are available to 100 percent of students. By making it available across campuses, we want to make it convenient for parents and students to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Parents can enroll students online by visiting www.fight-flu.com; enrollment will close a few days prior to the clinic dates. CareDox nurses will be at different SISD campuses each day, in accordance with the following schedule:
