1. Highway Safety Improvement Program
Project: Updates include modernized traffic signals, upgraded equipment, increased capacity and enhanced pedestrian features to streets in Allen.
Update: Construction is wrapping up, with three intersections remaining at Century Parkway and Bethany Drive, Greenville Avenue and Bethany Drive, and Main Street and Greenville Avenue.
Project: The work done will help relieve congestion on US 380 by widening the roadway into a six-to-eight-lane freeway across Denton and Collin County, with construction divided into multiple ongoing segments. The Denton County project stretches from Loop 288 in Denton to the western boundary of Collin County in Prosper.
Update: Final work on the project segment in Denton County is expected to wrap up sometime in April. However, remaining construction on the Collin County segment is still years out from finishing, as exact timelines are still being determined due to questions of funding.
Project: Lebanon Road is being widened from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway from FM 423 to Todd Drive in Frisco.
Update: Construction is actively underway, and officials are working on improving the existing lanes before adding to them.
Project:
Construction work includes replacing the water line, curb, gutter and portions of the sidewalks along Buckingham Drive in Denton. The project’s scope also includes a total roadway reconstruction and is funded from the $26 million Neighborhood 1B bond approved by voters in 2019.Update: Utility work is nearly complete on the south end of the project, and crews have started on road demolition on the north end.
Project: The project connects Bronco Way to Westgate Drive, giving it access to the I-35 service road.
Update: Construction wrapped on the project in April, according to an update from city staff to City Council and the Denton ISD board of trustees.
