A portion of East Wall Street will be widened after the Grapevine City Council approved a contract at the Jan. 20 meeting.
East Wall Street, west of Dooley Street to Austin Street, will have storm drainage installed to eliminate a ditch. Once the drainage improvements are complete, the city will have a contractor construct a 31-foot-wide curb and gutter street with sidewalks from Dooley Street to Austin Street. The current street width is 25 feet, according to city documents.
The cost
The city received three bids, and Wright Construction Co. was awarded the contract for $82,995.50. With a contingency cost of 15%, the total bid approved was $95,444.82, but was rounded up to $95,500, according to city documents.
