The city of Grapevine announced Fairway Drive is set to reopen Nov. 26 after months of construction.

The details

The roadwork is part of a partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation to install a new road and trail from SH 26 to the Grapevine Lake Dam. The 10-foot-wide trail will span 0.45 miles and connect with Links Trail.

The newly improved road includes a new roundabout near Cowboys Golf Club and Silver Lake Marina and a center turn lane between Northwest Highway and Grapevine Lake dam, which connects to the recreation area at the lake, Mona Quintanilla, the director of marketing and communications for Grapevine, said.

The background

Grapevine City Council awarded a $3.5 million contract during a regular meeting March 4 to start road improvements along Fairway Drive. The funding comes from a mix of federal dollars and transportation development credits that are being used as a local match.
