Colleyville City Council unanimously approved a highway safety improvement project along John McCain Road during the Sept. 4 meeting.
The overview
The project will span from a quarter of a mile west of Monticello Parkway to .03 miles west of Monticello Parkway. Public Works Director Amber Beard reported at the meeting that accidents along that stretch of highway have happened in the past near a narrow culvert. The project will consist of various safety improvements, including:
- New signage
- Widened shoulders
- Improved pavement markings
- Culvert and headwall replacement
In addition, John McCain Road will be realigned with a new curb, gutter and pavement.
