Grapevine Golf Course to partially reopen April 28

Grapevine golfers will soon be able to take to the green as the city's course is scheduled for an April 28 reopening.

The Grapevine Golf Course, located at 3800 Fairway Drive, Grapevine, had previously been closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Though the course will be open, the city said social distancing is still required, face masks are recommended, and all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for individuals must be followed.

“It is important that everyone understands that the COVID-19 virus is still highly contagious and the golf course reopening still requires everyone’s respect of this virus,” Grapevine Golf Course Director Russell Pulley said in a news release. “We are grateful to be able to facilitate golf again to our many loyal patrons who look forward to participating in this timeless sport.”

Planned for a phased reopening, the golf course's shop, restaurant, practice facilities and clubhouse restrooms will remain closed. Additionally, golf carts will be limited to one person and will be sanitized by staff after each use, according to the city.

Tee times will be on 15-minute intervals, and reservations for the 18-hole course can be made six days in advance, according to the city.

On April 21, Grapevine City Council cleared plans for a $4.8 million project on the golf course. The project will include new locker rooms, a pro shop and a restaurant.

The city intends for the clubhouse to serve as a multipurpose facility, including offering event space for banquets, corporate events and more.
