Median reconstruction and concrete pouring near Dawson Middle School for the Kimball Oaks development is expected to be completed by the time school starts on Aug. 25.
While plans have been in progress for months along Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) heading south on Kimball Avenue, the Public Works department and Southlake Police said they are working with the contractors to see that the work gets completed on time and that traffic continues to run smoothly and safely.
During the first part of this week, motorists can expect new concrete to be poured for the Village Center access, followed by the barricading of the old entrance and signage, including electronic message boards, directing school-related traffic onto the new Village Center access by mid-week.
Contractors have also engaged in wall removal and the construction of deceleration lanes at the intersection of Southlake Boulevard and South Kimball Avenue in order to prepare for the site.
