Former Colleyville mayor Donna Arp Weitzman will be recognized for her volunteerism efforts at the Volunteer Center of North Texas' first Big Hearts of Fort Worth Awards Breakfast.
The inaugural event recognizes and honors individuals and organizations that have been at the forefront of volunteerism in Fort Worth, contributing toward countless transformational acts of kindness.
Weitzman was president of Encore Capital and has served on more than 30 nonprofit boards. Her efforts have been widely recognized, including the President George W. Bush National Volunteer Award and US-Israeli Friendship Award, Bnai Zion International.
The breakfast will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, 1300 Houston St., Fort Worth.
