The original project to reconstruct Glade Road in Colleyville has been reduced to focus on the section from Bransford Road to Manning Drive, Mayor David Kelly said in a City Council work session June 30.
The project has been under discussion for approximately two years and was originally set to include four sections of road stretching from River Bend Drive to Heritage Avenue.
However, to aid traffic flow and safety, City Council agreed the work in Section 2 and 3A should begin as soon as possible. A summer 2015 start on the project would minimize the effect on traffic for Bransford Elementary School, according to a citywide news update.
Chad Gartner, representative for the city's project consultant TranSystems, said the work at Section 2, from Bransford Road to Thompson Terrace, would include adding markings and a roundabout to the Bransford Road intersection to aid school traffic.
