The project to reconstruct Glade Road in Collevyille has been reduced to only focus on the section from Bransford Road to Manning drive, said Mayor David Kelly in a work session June 30.
The project has been under discussion for approximately two years, and was originally set to include four sections of road, stretching from River Bend Drive to Heritage Avenue. After the project consultant TranSystems presented a final list of recommendations to the City Council on June 17, members only came to a consensus on sections 2 and 3A, with plans for the remaining sections and funding for them to still be reviewed.
But Kelly started the June 30 work session with urging for the council to "come to a decision and move on."
City Council agreed on the option to pursue only the approved sections. Outside of those, Kelly said the only thing the city would address is the roadway itself rather than any features or enhancements.
