Repairs to city sidewalks as well as the City Council chambers in Colleyville to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act were recommended during a June budget presentation to the City Council.
City Public Works Director Bob Lowry told the council the problem is not uncommon in cities that lack a strong advocacy group for the disabled. He included the items in a list of capital improvements suggested for 2014 at the June 26 budget workshop.
Other recommendations were for new projects such as a roundabout at Jackson and Cheek Sparger roads and building maintenance, including cleaning and sealing the stone on City Hall.
The preliminary overview showed the 2013-14 budget is estimated at $36 million. The capital improvements portion is about $9 million.
