The Southlake Public Library recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Originally opening inside the Town Hall on Sept. 26, 2001, the library has over 40,000 physical pieces in its inventory and offers more than 250,000 digital resources. The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association awarded the library an achievement of excellence in 2025 for its service and programming, according to the city.
“2026 has been a big year for birthdays in Southlake,” Mayor Shawn McCaskill said in an announcement. “Our city is celebrating 70 years and for 25 of those years the Southlake Public Library has been part of the story.”
Library cards are free for residents, Carroll ISD students, parents and staff, as well as city employees and local business owners. Anyone not eligible for a free card can purchase a year of access for $40, according to the library.
