1. New McDonald's under construction on Loop 288 in Denton
A new McDonald’s is under construction near the intersection of Loop 288 and Hummingbird Lane in Denton near Health Services of North Texas. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation documents state the location was scheduled to complete construction in late April.
The building will cover 4,421 square feet and cost $1.5 million to construct, per TDLR documents.

2. Celina council approves incentive agreement for city’s 2nd Walmart
A second Walmart could be coming to Celina.
Celina City Council approved an economic development agreement with Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust at a July 14 council meeting.
The move comes less than three months after the city’s first Walmart opened off Preston Road on April 29.

3. Grapevine council approves interlocal agreement for $230K road project
A rehabilitation and resurfacing project along Burney Lane/Midway Road in Grapevine and Southlake could begin soon.
Grapevine City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for the project during the July 7 meeting. City officials have budgeted $230,000 in the permanent capital maintenance fund for the work.

4. Crunch Fitness to debut McKinney location at the end of July
Crunch Fitness is opening in west McKinney at the end of the month, a gym representative confirmed.
The $12 million, 40,000-square-foot facility will feature a wide range of cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines, according to its website.

5. Patty Lou’s Smashburgers now open in downtown Plano
A new burger place, Patty Lou’s Smashburgers, opened in mid-July in Plano.
The latest concept from Urban Family is themed after Patty Lou and the Texas Sweethearts, an all-female western swing group that traveled through US 66 in the late 40s and 50s.
Bonnie Shea is the co-owner and daughter of Patty Lou. She said their latest restaurant is a tribute for her mom.

6. The Purrrfect Lounge to offer luxury cat boarding in McKinney
The Purrrfect Lounge, a luxury cat boarding lounge, is set to open in McKinney in October, owner Ursula McGrue said.
The Purrrfect Lounge will offer a space for owners to board their cats in a safe environment while they are away. The business will offer climate-controlled rooms, daily wellness checks and a variety of toys and climbing spaces, according to their website.
