First phase of Settlers Park expected in late 2024 in Grapevine

The park is located on over 15 acres with around 6 acres of mature woodlands in the surrounding area west of SH 26 and north of Bass Pro Court. The first phase will include a multipurpose concrete trail, a soft-surface trail, fishing pier, a boardwalk and picnic area, restrooms, a pavilion and lake overlook, parking, and park signage, Smith said.

“This is a gem that many cities do not have the opportunity to protect,” Smith said. “Our objective throughout this project is to take our time, take the extra effort to be sure that we create as little disruption to this property as we can.”

What’s next?

Construction on the park is expected to begin in November, Smith said, adding the anticipated completion date is around December 2024. Further development of the park is planned in subsequent phases.

Smith said the fully developed park will include a fishing pier, trail network, and a launching point for kayaks and paddle boats.

Council will consider a resolution awarding a bid at a future meeting.
