Construction on the first phase of a new city park is expected to begin later this year in Grapevine.
Parks and Recreation Director Chris Smith briefed council on the construction timeline for Settlers Park during Grapevine City Council’s Sept. 18 meeting.
In a nutshell
The first phase will cost over $3.3 million with $500,000 in grant funding offsetting the overall cost to the city, Smith said. After accounting for the grant, the city will fund the remaining $2.8 million using its quality-of-life fund.
