Colleyville council OKs purchase of 2 acres near Sparger Park

The city of Colleyville has purchased additional land near Sparger Park.

During the May 7 City Council meeting, the city agreed to spend not more than $10,000, plus closing costs, for 2 acres of land.

The details

Colleyville Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said the property is located at 4315 Bedford Road, near Little Bear Creek, and is considered part of the Tara Plantation subdivision.

“It is a heavily wooded area and immediately adjacent to the park,” Wood said. “We think it adds to the beautification of the area.”

City Manager Jerry Ducay said the southern portion of the property could now help connect the city’s plan to expand the Tara Trail.
