Colleyville City Council has tabled a request for an 18.45-acre development proposing to construct a new senior living center for the area.
Council discussed the first reading for the rezoning request at its March 3 meeting. The land—currently undeveloped—is located at 913 Cheek-Sparger Road, 3808 Wayne Drive and 3900 Bedford Court. The proposed senior living community would be restricted to people age 55 and older and would include 164 independent living units, 32 assisted living units, and 24 memory care units, for a total of 220 units, according to meeting documents.
The current zoning would require the developer to improve the intersection of Cheek-Sparger and Bedford Road/Bedford Court with a roundabout. The applicant would also add a right-turn-only lane to northbound Wayne where it intersects with Check-Sparger, officials said.
Council discussed the project and voiced several concerns with the development, including possible problems with drainage, traffic and emergency services access.
