To celebrate recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor, a motorcade of public safety vehicles will escort honorees flying into DFW International Airport in their travel to Gainesville for the annual Medal of Honor Weekend on Sept. 22.
A record number of North Texas fire departments, law enforcement agencies and volunteer organizations will participate in the 13th Annual Medal of Honor Recipient Motorcade, which is expected to stretch two miles in length and feature more than 50 vehicles in participation.
Included among those departments will be the Grapevine police and fire departments, Roanoke police and fire departments, the Southlake Department of Public Safety and fire department, the Fort Worth Fire Department, and the Keller Police Department.
It will also include the Highland Village Fire Department, Lewisville Police Department, Flower Mound Police Department, the Denton County Sheriff's Office, and Denton County Office of Emergency Services, as well as constables from Tarrant and Denton counties, and the DFW Airport Department of Pubic Safety.
