Carroll ISD trustees voted to approve pay for salaried and nonsalaried employees on the days schools were closed due to inclement weather during the Feb. 2 meeting.
Schools in the district were closed Jan. 26-28.
“It's super beneficial, especially to our hourly employees who obviously can't get those hours in whenever we call off school and they can't come up here,” trustee Andrew Yeager said.

Additionally, the board approved submitting a request to the Texas Education Agency to waive the need for any makeup days because of the closures Jan. 26-28. The waiver is pending approval from the TEA, and CISD staff and students will not be required to make up the three missed work days, if granted.
CISD budgets two days worth of instructional minutes per school year in preparation for potential missed days related to health, weather or safety, according to board documents. The waiver addresses the third missed day and seeks permission to not have any makeup days. If the waiver were to be denied, students and staff would have to come in March 13 and/or April 6.
