Recent sales tax collections in Grapevine and Southlake saw declines, while collections in Colleyville were up.
The Texas Comptroller’s Office released sales tax collection data July 8; July data generally reflects sales from the month of May.
Grapevine sales tax collections were $2.3 million, a 3.82% decrease from the same time last year.
Southlake sales tax collections were $2.2 million, a 10.96% decrease from the same time last year.
Colleyville sales tax collections were $496,481.89, a 10.4% increase from the same time last year.
Statewide sales tax collections from the comptroller’s July report were $744.2 million, 2.6% less than the report from July 2019.
According to the comptroller’s office, social distancing requirements were eased across the state in May, resulting in less steep declines than in prior months.
