Southlake Council approves revised plan for 4 homes after initial denial

A rezoning request approved by the Southlake City Council will lead to the construction of four new houses on West Continental Boulevard.

The details

Sage Group, Inc., on behalf of Stephanie Lomme, requested the change at 2300 W. Continental Blvd. from agriculture to transition zoning district. An existing house that was constructed in 1981 will be torn down and four single-family residential housing will be constructed on the 2.57-acre lot.

The original plan for five houses on the lot was denied by Planning & Zoning and council in February, according to city documents.

A plan for a four-house development was approved March 4 by City Council. The final approval was given during the April 1 meeting.

The backstory

The initial plan called for minimum lot sizes of 18,104 square feet but the removal of one house changed it to 22,256 square feet, meeting the requirement for the city’s SF-20A lot regulations, according to city documents.

What else?

The property is near the intersection of West Continental Boulevard and West Davis Boulevard. According to a council memo, the intersection will see lane improvements along West Continental in late 2025.
