A piece of Grapevine will be redeveloped for retail and office uses.
At the Grapevine City Council meeting Nov. 19, council approved an amendment to a plan that previously set aside 2.7 acres to be developed as parking for an apartment complex. With the amendment, the space will be used for office and retail instead.
In 1998 the council approved a 392-unit apartment development at 2701 Grapevine Mills Blvd. N., Grapevine, according to meeting documents. This eventually became the Cross Creek at Grapevine Ranch apartments.
At the time, space was allotted for 976 parking spaces. Parking requirements have changed in the city since 1998, and only 784 parking spaces are required under current regulations.
