2 Grapevine roads to receive restriping under county agreement

There are two road segments in Grapevine scheduled to receive permanent roadway striping under an interlocal agreement between the city and Tarrant County.

Grapevine City Council approved the agreement during its May 19 meeting.

The details

According to the agreement, Tarrant County will provide labor, equipment and materials to stripe the following roads:

• Oak Grove Loop from Dove Loop Road to Dove Road
• East Wall Street from Jenkins Street to Austin Street

County crews will use waterborne acrylic traffic paint that complies with current Texas Department of Transportation specifications.

Striping work will occur from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, per the agreement. Traffic may be reduced during work hours.

City officials said the project is expected to take place in June, pending the county’s schedule, and should take about two days to complete. Under the agreement, Grapevine will pay up to $11,800.66 for paint materials and fuel while the county provides equipment and labor.

Final costs will be determined after the project is completed.

Also of note

The agreement states Grapevine will provide traffic control assistance if requested and notify nearby property owners before work begins. The city is also responsible for ensuring road surfaces are clean and ready before striping begins.

A construction timeline has not yet been announced. The agreement will remain in effect until the project is completed or Sept. 30, whichever occurs first.
