On March 7 the city of Colleyville and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD entered into an agreement to facilitate the installation of a fiber-optic system throughout the city.
The 57-mile-long system, which is a joint project among Colleyville, Grapevine and GCISD, will save the district at least $200,000 per year and increase the district’s bandwidth from 1 gigabit to a minimum of 10 gigabits.
As part of the agreement, the city of Grapevine will serve as the installation contractor.
“This will accomplish a lot for the city and the district,” Colleyville Mayor Richard Newton said.
