The city of Southlake agreed to spend nearly $1 million on various radio equipment for the department of public safety.
The council approved a trio of ordinances during a meeting Nov. 1 that will provide upgrades to the police and fire units. All of the purchases were already budgeted in the fiscal year 2022-23 budget.
The city will receive 82 portable radios to replace outdated models from Motorola Solutions, with the contract not to exceed $1 million. According to documents, the cost will be $750,068.
Another contract with Motorola Solutions was not to exceed $66,000 and the presented bid was $65,800 for body-worn camera video storage as well as WiFi in vehicles.
