A longtime Grapevine business was sold and Tops Vacuum and Sewing added two more Texas locations to its portfolio.
The sale was completed in early January, according to Brian Beggs, a general manager for Tops Vacuum & Sewing in Florida. The sign change for the business on Northwest Highway happened on Feb. 27.
Beggs said the Florida-based company bought the Grapevine and Weatherford location from Randy and Stacey Luster, who ran the family-owned Sewing World of Grapevine, which was in business for more than 50 years.
“We are excited to be here,” Beggs said. “The people are nice and business is good. They are making us feel welcomed.”
Tops Vacuum and Sewing has 15 locations and was founded in 1945. It has been under the current ownership group for more than 25 years, Beggs said. The purchase of Grapevine and Weatherford expands the company's presence to four locations in Texas, according to its website.
Beggs said the business's interior floor was replaced after the sale and new products were added.
Baby Lock and Grace Long Arm Quilting machines were added, joining current offerings of Brother, Janome and JUKI. Riccar, SEBO, and Miele are among the vacuum brands sold there.
Services offered include vacuum repair, sewing machine repair and sewing lessons, Beggs said. He said sewing classes and events will start later this year at the location.
