Sam’s Club held a first-of-its-kind event in Grapevine, allowing local members to help shape the future of the apparel sold under the Member’s Mark banner, Feb. 16 at Hotel Vin.
The details
Hotel Vin hosted more than 200 Dallas-Fort Worth members who could provide real-time feedback on the look and feel of men’s and women’s clothing that is planned to debut in stores this spring.
Sam’s Clubs members got a behind-the-scenes look at the collection and had a chance to try on clothing that ranged from dresses to workout gear to dress pants.
“This is a really special area,” said Christine Sharp, group director of product development for Member’s Mark. “Dallas is amazing, and one of our key clubs is located right by here, the Grapevine club. We wanted to be here with the community to show our presence and celebrate this area.”
Sharp said that every Member’s Mark clothing item, from fabric to fit to mobility and functionality, seeing if a phone will fit in a pocket, was tested throughout the morning.
What else?
Sue Jervis, Sam’s Club senior director of consumer and sensory insights, said the planning for this event started about six months ago.
In addition to clothing, guests could sample Member’s Mark food products to provide feedback. Items included jalapeño beef sticks, healthy heart nut mix, lemon blueberry cookies, fruit snacks and truffles.
Invited members also had the opportunity to receive a live fashion show sketch from Alisa Maxime Studio and a customized tote bag to fill with samples of the food products.
