Dutch Bros new Westlake location now open

Dutch Bros Coffee's new location near the border of Westlake and Roanoke is now open.

The drive-thru coffee shop serves coffee-based drinks with names such as Kicker, Annihilator and Double Torture. The company’s website states that the menu also includes:

• Energy drinks
• Smoothies
• Muffin tops

The backstory

According to the company’s website, Dutch Bros Coffee started in 1992 when brothers D​​ane and Travis Boersma left the family dairy business to sell coffee drinks from a pushcart in Grants Pass, Oregon. As of March 31, there are 876 locations across 17 states.

The company website states that Dutch Bros strives to make connections with the communities they serve through philanthropic programs. Dutch Luv Day, when $1 is donated from every drink sold to local organizations that fight food insecurity, occurs every year on Feb. 1. Drink One for Dane is held in honor of co-founder Dane Boersma, who died from ALS. The campaign raises funds to help increase awareness, raise support and find a cure for ALS.
