Grapevine Mills’ newest attraction, Dig World, has started welcoming guests.
The overview
The construction-themed adventure park has several attractions, including a skid steer course and the ability to operate an excavator. Dig World also has a special attraction called The Crusher where guests can purchase a package that includes a souvenir toy and the ability to take home the same toy flattened by a 20,000-pound asphalt roller.
Guests can also partake in game versions of real-world construction tasks, such as fixing broken pipes and connecting railway segments.
“I always tell people, ‘these aren't rides, these are real machines, it's as real as it gets,’” general manager Alex Reszitnyk said. “When you come here to Dig World, you can have a unique experience every single time.”
Most of the construction equipment is provided through a partnership with Irving-based Caterpillar Inc., Dig World founder Jacob Robinson said.
“We're super humbled and super thankful,” Robinson added. “They've been believing in us at the local deal dealer level since Day 1.”
The Grapevine Mills park has also partnered with Dude Perfect to create an area where guests can try to hit targets with a football, sink a putt using an excavator and sink a basketball shot from a boom lift.
“We're the only theme park in the world that has a Dude Perfect zone,” Reszitnyk said.
Some context
Since Dig World originally opened in Katy in 2022, Robinson said adding a Dallas location has been a goal.
“Finally [being] able to be here, have the park open [and] see guests come through the gate is a fun, fun day for us,” Robinson said.
Additionally, the park fits into the family-oriented entertainment options Grapevine officials have tried to provide for residents and visitors, said Paul W. McCallum, the city’s executive director of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“What is most important about it is that you have to come here as a family,” McCallum said. “It brings families together, gives families a reason and an opportunity to do things together. In Grapevine, we are all about the family.”
What else?
The standard entry for guests ages 2 and older starts at $30. There is also a premium pass at $50 per guest, which includes the standard entry plus a voucher for The Crusher and one bottled drink.
Guests can also purchase a 90-day pass for $75 or a year pass for $150, which also includes a 10% discount on in-park retail, food and beverage.
