Southlake-based restaurant chain Cotton Patch Cafe announced that it has been acquired by Local Favorite Restaurants.
The chain announced June 29 that Dallas-based Local Favorite Restaurants had acquired Cotton Patch Cafe from Altamont Capital Partners.
Local Favorite Restaurants currently owns and operates other Texas restaurants, such as El Fenix Mexican Restaurant, Snuffer's Restaurant & Bar, Twisted Root Burger Company and Meso Maya.
The overview
Cotton Patch Cafe originally opened in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1989. Since then, Cotton Patch Cafe has served up Southern-style cooking at 46 locations across Texas and New Mexico. Despite becoming a chain, Cotton Patch Cafe has kept its original scratch-made recipes as well as its $9.99 Texas Value Meals.
Cotton Patch Cafe offers a variety of Southern meals such as chicken fried steak, roasted turkey and meatloaf, as well as steak, burgers and sandwiches from the grill.

According to Cotton Patch Cafe CEO Brandon Coleman III, the acquisition by Local Favorite Restaurants will return local Texas ownership to the brand.
“With the Local Favorite team behind us, we're ready to bring Cotton Patch to more communities and write the next chapter of this amazing brand's growth," Coleman said in a news release.
