Sorting out details
Transportation Manager Lua Saluone outlined over 10 active intersections across the city, all of which will be undergoing improvements in the coming years. The following intersections are included:
- Wildwood Drive and Williams Drive
- Leander Road from East Norwood Drive to Southwest Bypass
- Williams Drive and Lakeway Drive
- Scenic Drive and Hwy. 29
The city has about $1.7 million left in intersection funding from the 2015 road bond. Saluone said if Council approves the intersection improvements, the city will then use the funding on some of the above projects, leaving about $80,000 to remain.
Saluone also mentioned a few intersections that warrant signals and some that have been identified as potentially needing traffic lights. The following were mentioned:
- Lakeway Drive and Northwestern Boulevard
- Wolf Ranch Parkway and Rivery Driveway
- CR 245 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard
What officials are sayingA few council members gave feedback on which intersections they deemed a priority. Two intersections, in particular, came up: Williams Drive at Lakeway Drive and Wolf Ranch Parkway at Rivery Driveway.
