Williamson County has several ongoing transportation projects in Georgetown, including the nearly completed CR 255 reconstruction, with more in the planning phase.

Upcoming projects
RM 2243 (Hero Way) widening Phase 2A
- Project: The next phase of the project will widen the road from 183A to Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
- Update: The county reached 30% design completion, and coordination with the city of Leander and Texas Department of Transportation is ongoing. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2027.
- Timeline: 2027-29
- Cost: $30.2 million
- Funding sources: Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, city of Leander
CR 175 reconstruction- Project: Road work will reconstruct and widen CR 175 from south of Creek Meadow Cove to RM 2243.
- Update: Design is anticipated to be complete in late 2027. The tentative construction schedule begins in 2028 and ends in 2029.
- Timeline: 2028-29
- Cost: $42.8 million
- Funding sources: Williamson County tax anticipation note, 2023 road bond
Ongoing projectsRM 2243 (Hero Way) widening Phase 1A
- Project: About 3.5 miles of RM 2243 between 183A and Garey Park in Georgetown will be reconstructed, realigned and widened to provide a three-lane roadway with one lane in each direction and a dedicated center turn lane. The project also adds a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists.
- Update: Construction began in January and is anticipated to be completed in early 2028. Chasco Constructors are continuing work on the road.
- Timeline: 2026-28
- Cost: $37 million
- Funding sources: city of Leander, federal funding, Williamson County 2019 road bond
Hwy. 195 at Ronald Reagan Boulevard ramps- Project: This project will construct a series of entrance and exit ramps at the intersection of Hwy. 195 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, including entry and exit ramps from northbound Hwy. 195 to Ronald Reagan, and southbound Ronald Reagan exit and entrance ramps to and from Hwy. 195.
- Update: Construction on the first northbound exit ramp began in summer 2025 and is anticipated to be completed this summer. The engineer for the remaining three ramps completed schematic designs in March, and construction is anticipated to begin in the spring and be completed in spring 2028.
- Timeline: summer 2025-spring 2028
- Cost: $3.6 million
- Funding source: Williamson County 2019 and 2023 road bonds
CR 255 reconstruction- Project: A new two-lane roadway will be built alongside the existing road from CR 254 to CR 289. The existing road will be removed after the new lanes are complete. The project will also connect the new roadway from CR 289 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, and is part of a future six-lane divided road.
- Update: The design for the project is complete and contractor Jordan Foster Construction began construction in early 2025. Crews have paved portions of the road and are nearing completion by this summer.
- Timeline: early 2025-summer 2026
- Cost: $20.8 million
- Funding source: Williamson County road and bridge fund
CR 110 North extension- Project: This construction aims to extend CR 110 north from CR 111, which is also called Rockride Lane in Georgetown, to connect with Patriot Way at Sam Houston Avenue. It includes construction of a three-lane temporary road.
- Update: Construction began in January and the project is anticipated to complete in the fall. Contractor Joe Bland is working on pumping water from the existing pond.
- Timeline: fall 2025-fall 2026
- Cost: $9.4 million
- Funding source: Williamson County 2023 road bond
Ronald Reagan Boulevard widening Segment B- Project: This project includes building a two-lane southbound roadway from Hwy. 29 to FM 3405, and transitioning the existing road to become northbound only.
- Update: Chasco Constructors began work on the project in 2024 and anticipates completion in late 2027.
- Timeline: summer 2024-late 2027
- Cost: $53 million
- Funding source: Williamson County 2019 road bond
I-35 at Inner Loop Interchange- Project: The project includes the design and construction of improvements to the interchange between SE Inner Loop and I-35.
- Update: All work for the project has been put on hold pending TxDOT advancing the design of I-35.
