1. Brix and Ale celebrates Oktoberfest Enjoy German-inspired food, beer and live music from the Sean Russell Band at Brix and Ale’s Octoberfest. Jumbo caraway pretzels with dusseldorf mustard and beer cheese dip, housemade bratwurst and sauerkraut, and jagersnitzel and spatzle are just a few of the items on the menu. $5 tickets are redeemable for one beer or one food item and will be sold at the event. 6-10 p.m. $5. 2. Olive Fest brings live music, food trucks The Central Texas Olive Ranch will host its annual Olive Fest event where there will be live music by Tone Band and food trucks. There will also be hayride orchard tours, olive oil tastings, crafts, cooking demonstrations and bounce houses, among other activities. 5-10 p.m. Free. Pistons on the Square hosts toy drive During its monthly meetup, Piston on the Square will be collecting unwrapped toys to be donated to Blue Santa Georgetown, a program of the Georgetown Police Department that provides toys to more than 1,500 Georgetown children during the holidays. All Things Kids and Sweet Lemon Inn and Kitchen will be providing hot chocolate, ice cream, coffee and breakfast bites at the event. A second toy drive will be held Nov. 20. 8-10 a.m. Free. 4. Music event raises money for hurricane relief The second annual Hell or High Water Concerts brings live music to local Georgetown establishments to raise money for hurricane relief. Two venues will host 15 musicians over the two days. There will also be free happy hour events with live music hosted by businesses on the Georgetown Square. All of the proceeds go to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey as they continue to recover. Time varies. $15-$25. Friday: Roots Bistro, 18 W. 5. Inversion Ensemble performs at library The Georgetown Public Library hosts Inversion Ensemble, an ensemble that includes composers and singers, for its monthly Live Music at the Library event. Pet-Toberfest (Austin) Pet-Toberfest—replacing Dogtoberfest—will include a costume contest and parade, a petting zoo, and two musical acts. Proceeds from Pet-Toberfest will benefit several area rescue nonprofits.
