During its Feb. 19 meeting, the Georgetown ISD board of trustees approved the district's 2013–14 calendar that sets May 30 as the last day of school.
The district had sought community input on two potential calendars, and GISD Superintendent Joe Dan Lee told trustees that public comment did not favor one calendar over the other.
He said staff members preferred the approved calendar, which is almost identical to the current calendar, instead of a second proposed calendar that ended school the first week of June.
Lee also said the district will host two high school graduations in the upcoming school year for the first time.
